Your own sanctuary adjoins Chiricahua Wilderness Area. Beautiful sweep of healthy desert grassland, agave, cactus and scattered oaks rises to a small valley with more oaks, cliffs above. Lots of good building sites all with fantanstic views, Horsehoe Can to s., Portal Peak to N and Peloncillos to east. Area was part of a controlled burn in 2011 and looks better than before because vegetation here is fire adapted. There is no longer a fence along National Forest boundary due to Horseshoe II fire in 2011, but wire is still probably there. Great horse country, ride for miles. Mule deer, Scaled Quail, Gila monsters are your neighbors. Apache School District means low taxes. Mobile home OK. Rugged, remote, perfect bugout site for preppers or a wilderness cabin and primitive living off the grid.
